Mark - Hopi Ear Candles

Since the age of 13 I have suffered from excess earwax blocking my hearing when water entered. I have been to the doctors for countless syringing until I suffered a perforation in my right ear at the age of 25 following a bicycle accident.

I had a further syringe in my left ear after the accident but it was uncomfortable and made me feel unstable. It wasn’t until my hearing got so bad I could bearly hear that I started looking for suitable treatment.

I had heard of Hopi candle burning but didn ’t understand what it was. I looked on the internet and looked at several local sites in the East Midlands – that when I came across Glenda’s site, I find it informative, detailed and friendly; so I emailed her for further details.

I was delighted to get a reply and I then spoke to her to see if she could deal with a perforated ear drum. I was so pleased when she said yes. Whilst the charge of £20 a session worried me – you cant put a price on being able to hear.

When I went for my first appointment in Clifton Village I had water trapping my hearing in my left ear in approximately 2.1/2 years of ear wax and over 6 years of wax in my right ear.
Glenda says she had never seen so much wax and no wonder my ears weren’t self cleansing!

Little wax came out first visit, but the warm feeling of your synopsises being cleared was excellent. In fact I have probably gone for 12 visits before Glenda could actually see my ear drum.

There have been bad weeks where I wondered about giving up and weeks that wax has just burst out – I am glad I had the staying power and that Glenda didn’t give up on me.
The candle burning became so relaxing it wasn’t uncommon to fall asleep during treatment!
The treatments even calmed my snoring!

My hearing gradually got better and better in each ear, week by week, but the water I started the treatments with went after the first Hopi Candle.

Now I go every 4 weeks on a maintenance plan so that I never go back to feeling unstable and unable to hear.

I can’t thank Glenda enough, not only is she helpful but so friendly and understanding that I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone with problems with excess ear wax.
